Efficient Attendance Tracking for Government Employees
AadhaarBAS is a specialized application designed for government employees in India to mark their attendance seamlessly. Launched under the Digital India Initiative in 2014, this tool enhances punctuality and transparency among registered personnel. It enables users to log their attendance daily, ensuring that only authorized government employees can access this functionality.
The application initially supported fingerprint and iris scanning for attendance marking but has evolved to include face-based Aadhaar authentication. This feature allows registered users to quickly and accurately mark their attendance by simply showing their face to the device, with the entire process taking only 2-3 seconds. The system relies on the UIDAI's Central Identities Data Repository, ensuring secure and efficient attendance management within the Indian IP space.
